Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has directed to rescue the flood and landslide victims immediately.
At a meeting of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority held in Baluwatar on Saturday, Prime Minister Oli said that there could be continuous rains for a few days and there was a risk of floods and landslides.
Prime Minister Oli also directed to be ready 24 hours for disaster risk reduction and management and rehabilitation.
Prime Minister directed to be ready by providing necessary financial resources and manpower for disaster risk reduction and management, said NEA Executive Chief Anil Pokharel.
Oli said that immediate rescue, relief and rehabilitation issues were discussed in the meeting and emphasis was laid on the need to rescue the victims of natural calamities and rehabilitate them in school buildings or public buildings.
The discussion was attended by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Leader of the Opposition Sher Bahadur Deuba and other ministers and heads of security agencies. According to the National Emergency Operations Center under the Ministry of Home Affairs, eight districts have been affected by floods and landslides on Friday.
