The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division has stated that different parts of the country are going to see heavy rainfall from Asar 25-28, specially Province 1,2, Bagmati and Gandaki.
Senior meteorologist Dr. Archana Shrestha informed that since it has been raining since the start of monsoon, water levels are increasing. She also added that monsoon becomes more active in July and August and the above mentioned provinces will receive more rain in the coming four days including today. It has also rained more than average so far.
The rain throughout the country during the pre-monsoon period from Baishak till now has already loosened the land causing landslides and loss of lives and property in some places.
During the pre-monsoon period, large landslides in Parbat and Bajhang have already taken the lives of 15 people. According to the records of the authority since Baishakh, there have been a total of 804 monsoon related incidents killing 114 people.
The authority has warned of heavy rain for the next four days and requested everyone to take safety measures and be cautious. It has also said that crisis management and loss prevention preparations were already in place involving all levels of the government and other organisations involved in it.
It has been forecasted that rivers like Kankai, Koshi,Kamala, Bagmati, Narayani and their tributaries will see an increase in water levels from friday till sunday.
