Government urges Private Schools to Continue Online Classes,Assures Support

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has urged the private schools  to continue the alternative learning systems such as conducting online classes as the government is making efforts to address their financial and other demands.

Ministry spokesperson Deepak Sharma said in a statement issued today that the problem would be resolved on the basis of suggestions received in consultation with those concerned about the demand for private schools and recently the public monetary policy has also made provision for rescheduling of loans to education entrepreneurs.

The Private and Residential Schools Organization Nepal (PABSON) and the National Private and Residential Schools Association (N-PABSON) had issued a joint appeal on July 16 announcing the suspension of online classes due to restrictions in raising regular fees for online classes causing  problems for payment of teachers' salaries.

The ministry had instructed to implement the 'Student Learning Facilitation Guideline through Alternative System, 2077' approved on Jestha 18 in all schools across the country from Asar 1.

The ministry has been saying that if there is any problem for its implementation, schools  can consult with the concerned local level government to find a solution.
