SEE exam to be finalized after lockdown

Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel has said that it will be decided when the examination including SEE will be held after the modality of lockdown.

Responding to a question raised by lawmakers in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Pokharel said a decision on the examinations would be reached within this month.

He said that the ministry will move ahead by formulating a systematic view on the SEE, Class 11 and 12 examinations and various university examinations after the modality of lockdown.

Minister Pokharel also informed the parliament that three options are being discussed about SEE. He also said that the final year and semester examinations of all levels including school level, undergraduate and postgraduate level will be held at a suitable time even after waiting for some time.

He also said that an alternative education-learning guideline has been issued and homework is being done in a way that is conducive to learning.

He clarified that the responsibility for education lies with the state as it is included in the constitution as a fundamental right and the budget for the transformation of public schools has been increased and alternative, technical, specialized and open education is being developed for the first time.
