13th Republic Day Message

Giving a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 13th Republic Day, Prime Minister Oli said that inequality, discrimination and untouchability against anyone on the basis of caste, creed, religion or any other ground is not acceptable in the republic.

Stating that the republic is a system of prosperity based on social justice and equality, he clarified that any discrimination against women, dalits and backward communities cannot be tolerated.

He said that the country had achieved significant achievements even during the period when most of the time had been spent on institutionalizing the republic and the dreams of development and prosperity had been coming true for years.

Stating that national unity has been strengthened, he said that the sovereign practice of the nation to make its own decisions and freely choose the path of its development has reached a new height.

Meanwhile, the 13th Republic Day is celebrated on Thursday. The first meeting of the Constituent Assembly in 2065 BS declared the Federal Democratic Republic on May 30.

The Jana Andolan (People's Movement) of 2062 BS ended the centuries-old monarchy and established a republic in the country.
