Revenue collection affected due to lock down
Revenue collection has been affected due to lockdown at the only Maheshpur customs office in West Nawalparasi.
Chief of the Maheshpur Customs Office, Hemraj Sharma, informed that the revenue collection was zero in the month of April, 2077 BS. Revenue collection has been affected since the lockdown began.
The revenue collection has been affected after the District Administration Office instructed the customs office not to collect customs duty on goods entering from Maheshpur.
According to the office, only Rs. 88 lakh was collected before the bandh in March, 2076 BS and only Rs. 7 lakh revenue was collected.
Chief District Officer Basudev Dahal said that all possible materials were not allowed to enter through the checkpoint considering the uneasy situation of corona infection.
Despite the target of collecting a total revenue of Rs. 150 million in the current Fiscal Year 2076/07, only Rs. 111.8 million has been collected so far.
