New map of Nepal made public
The government has unveiled a new political and administrative map of Nepal.
Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Aryal on Wednesday afternoon formally unveiled a new political map of Nepal including Kalapani, Lipulek and Limpiyadhura from the Singha Durbar-based ministry.
According to the new map, the total area of Nepal will be 147,516 square kilometers.The area of encroached land is 335 square kilometers. Excluding encroached land, Nepal has an area of 147,181 square kilometers.
Minister Aryal said that necessary steps have been taken to make the map public and use it across the country.
She said that the new map has been made public by including all the territories of Nepal in the new map as the previous map did not include the Kalindi and its eastern part as Nepal.
She expressed confidence that India would also take the issue of the new map of Nepal in a positive light.
