CPN Secretariat meeting
The ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) has decided to assemble a standing committee meeting.
A meeting of the secretariat held at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar on Saturday evening decided to convene a meeting of the standing committee on April 10.
CPN (Maoist) spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha Prakash informed that a meeting of the secretariat will be held the day before to decide the agenda of the standing committee meeting.
The meeting also decided to nominate Vice-Chairman Bamdev Gautam as a candidate for the House of Representatives at an appropriate time.
Similarly, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli also criticized the government for its weaknesses and Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal for his weaknesses in running the party, said spokesperson Shrestha.
The meeting has also instructed the leaders and cadres not to take part in any activities to make the party foot-oriented.
Spokesperson Shrestha said that the secretariat meeting also decided to fight against the corona epidemic by uniting the party.
At the meeting, party leader Madhav Kumar Nepal had rejected the post of the party's third chairman.
Spokesperson Shrestha said that the proposal to have three chairpersons was discussed in general but since Madhav Kumar Nepal himself agreed to become the chairperson, the proposal to have three chairpersons would not go ahead.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Oli had proposed to make Bamdaev Gautam the Prime Minister and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal the third chairman.
