Procedure of Dharma Awards 2021
1) Dharma Award criteria:
Dharma Television Pvt. Ltd. has established 10 Types of Dharma awards
remembering Buddha, Bodhisattva, Arhat and historic personalities. Award is to be
distributed to those who worked for Buddhism, philosophy, science and technology, good
leadership, best education, art, architecture etc. worldwide. Award aims to lead youth
generation towards peace, prosperity, development and enlightenment by providing
positive inspiration. Dharma Award categories are as follows:

2) Criteria
Criteria for personality and organization selection for the above-mentioned Dharma
award is organized by Dharma Television Pvt. Ltd. are as follows:
A. Annual Dharma Chakra Award will be given to national and international great
Dharma Masters, individuals, community, organization and Sangha for their contribution
in Buddha dharma, Philosophy, meditation, Sadhana, wide-spreading teachings of
Buddha and individual philosophy of Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrayana as well as the
welfare of sentient beings. Four awards will be given according to various perspectives.
Under this:
1. Dharma Chakra Award
2. Dharma Chakra Theravada Award
3. Dharma Chakra Mahayana Award
4. Dharma Chakra Vajrayana Award
Those who played a great role in development in the field of Buddha Dharma, education,
meditation, Sadhana, yoga, tradition, culture, Tripitaka and its translation and Buddha
Dharma in general, within all three Yana of Buddhism individual or organization, will be
given Dharma Chakra Award whereas those Masters and disciples who contributed
specifically for flourishment and development of three different Yana will be honored
with three particular awards.
B. Padmasambhava Mahasiddha Award is to be awarded to long term practitioners of
Himalayan Buddhism or practitioner of Guhya tantra of Vajrayana that was taught and
practiced by Guru Padmasambhava. Possible candidates of this award are masters who
uphold a genuine tradition of empowerment, transmission, sadhana and have established
a school, a college that produces maximum numbers of students. Another possibility is
those sponsors and donors who have physically and financially helped with the operation
of such schools and colleges.
Padmasambhava Mahasiddha Award might also be
bestowed to those Nirmana Kaya masters (Rinpoches) who are following body, speech,
mind, quality and enlightened activity of Padmasambhava or to one who is tirelessly
involved in flourishing secret tantric and Himalayan buddha-dharma worldwide.
C. For Annual Dharma Ashok Leadership Award, two genres of leadership awards will
be given to those successful, skilled and efficient leaders in politics, social activity,
religion and industry. Among four fields of politics, social activity, religion and industry,

one who has uplifted one's nation or world through all four means or one of the four will
be awarded. Such a skillful leader from Nepal will be awarded Dharma Ashoka
National Leadership Award whereas those leaders from the foreign nation will be
awarded Dharma Ashoka International Leadership Award.
D. Nagarjuna Invention Award will be given every year. Award will be rewarded to
those national and international personalities who have made an important study and
research in the field of innovation or had innovated anything that is beneficial for society,
nation, human civilization, nature and sentient beings.
E. Manjushree Education Arts, Literature, Music and Corporate Award is given
every year in the field of Education, Art, Literature, Music and Corporate. Possible
candidates for this award are scholars, artists, intellectuals, educational institutions,
entrepreneurs, businessmen and individuals who have contributed in the field of art,
literature, Corporate and music in Nepal.
F. Ananda Humanitarian Award will be given to those dedicated national and
international social workers for their contribution and effort in humanitarian activities.
G. Annual Anath Pindak Philanthropist Award will be given to national and
international personalities that have worked for the alleviation of poverty, welfare of
orphans, needy and physically challenged people. Their contribution can be economical
or physical.
H. Contributors from any country in the welfare of women, women empowerment and
women's rights will be awarded Vishakha Women Welfare Award.
I. XuanZang Great Pilgrim Award is given to an individual or organization that
has discovered a Buddhist pilgrimage site, or has organized pilgrim, written
research paper, made documentary or have researched and worked for conservation
and preservation of Buddhist pilgrimage, archaeological site, discoveries of
unexplored lands and religious site.
J. Jiwaka Medication Award is to be bestowed to national and international nominees for
Excellent services in the medical sector. Hospital with the best service will be awarded
Jiwaka Best Hospital Award and doctors with their contribution to the health sector will
be given Jiwaka Best Doctor Award.
To be nominated among the above-mentioned genres, all procedures should be followed
according to the procedure set by Dharma Award-2021. According to this, a nominee or
possible candidate should apply or be proposed with all required documents. After this
application is analyzed and once approved by Nominee Approving Sangha than after 5th

of 8th Dharma Award Show nominee will be shortlisted for voting. 75% of final result
will be decided by public vote whereas the remaining 25% will be given by the Jury
Committee.
Award Process
3) Procedure
A core Sangha of the Expert and approval will be set for nomination and selection of
candidates. A core Sangha and four Sub-Sangha will be set for this purpose. Formation of
the Sangha, it's functions, rights and responsibilities, recommendation and selection
procedure, publishing notice, criteria for accepting applications and establishment of
award fund will be as follows:

B. Responsibility, Authority and Function of Award Recommendation Sangha:
Following are the responsibility, authority and function of the Award Recommendation
Core Sangha for the award program organized by Dharma Television Pvt. Ltd.
a. Core Sangha at first will form a sub-sangha for the nomination, then
sequentially manage the process of award distribution, for instance, conducting
seminars, press releases, collection of nominee, sponsors, technical, economical
and other required resources etc. All these activities will be carried out under the
sub-sangha.
b. Sub-Sangha is responsible for seminars to press releases. Responsibility to
organize and broadcast award distribution is under sub-sangha with the
collaboration of core sangha.
c. Setting time table, creating and conducting programs,
d. Selection and recommendation of candidates for the award,
e. Forming and determining the responsibility of the Selection-Sangha and SubSangha.
f. To coordinate with government and non-government bodies,

E) Dharma Award distribution method:
Distribution of this award will be done in accordance with the provisions of Dharma
Award Criteria and Rules 2021. Apart from these provisions, suitable candidates will be
selected using following methods.

kin will be sought. They will also be given an opportunity to advocate for their
contribution. Whereas, media promotion will be done by the organizer.
2. Rewards to be given to contributors:
A. Nominee can be registered as per the information from the contributor:
Advocates can be appointed or can advocate for oneself.
B. Nominees themselves can register for nominations:
Advocates can be appointed according to ones demand or the organizers can be given the
responsibility of advocacy.
C. The organizer can register the nominee:
Organizers will advocate.
F) Procedure for selection and recommendation:
Competition will be held only after a minimum of 8 candidates in each category is
nominated.

2. Based on the logic made by the advocate for person or organization
3. Based on the analysis made by the expert
4. Based on response received via media promotion
5. Based on media voting
Note: First four points will cover 25% percent and 75% marks will be determined by fifth
point. Award will be given only to the person and organization recommended by the
Award Recommendation Sangha.
Obligations: Before registering the nominee, organizer will seek the consent of the
concerned person.
Organizers will take full responsibility for media promotion.
Organizers will arrange the resources for the advocates.
Stages and process of advocacy will be decided by the organizer.
Media voting system will be operated by the organizers.
C. Procedure for selection and recommendation:
1. Process of Nominee selection and recommendation: Nominees should at least
be indulged in a particular field for 5 years. Nominees shouldn't have been accused
of severe cases of corruption, killing, torturing, Riot or terrorism. Nominees
should be honored or worthy of honor at the national and international level.
